Christ the King

Today marks the official birthday of Christ the King. King Charles’s Birthday Parade, marking his official birthday, was held on Saturday, 15th June this year.

King Charles III, wearing Irish Guards uniform, takes the salute from a dais outside Buckingham Palace after the Irish Guards trooped their Colour.

The King’s Christmas speech this year was recorded at Fitzrovia Chapel. It was built as the chapel for the Middlesex Hospital but was not consecrated as patients and workers at the hospital are drawn from many faiths. Something that may have appealed to the king in multi-faith Britain and the Commonwealth.

Wishing you a happy Christmas and with my best wishes for 2025.

  1. Hi Christopher,
Thank you for your musings over the year.
I hope you have a very very merry Christmas 🎄 from all your Australian Relatives

  2. Dear Christo,

Compliments of the season to you and Bertie and thank you for keeping us informed and engaged. On most occasions I feel Blog Bellew should carry the kitemark ‘Quality Assured’, as generally, the writing is splendidly colourful and moves with all the alacrity of a spirited Plum novel. I imagine most of us who are seasoned followers are of similar artistic temperaments, and find nourishment in similar themes, which is why it gives us pleasure to discover what exactly you get up to. Sometimes, when there have been successive days of endless book reviews, I have to engage Bru to fill in the gaps, which of course he is happy to oblige. His recurring theme that you ‘are always blogging about something’ (or did he say ‘blagging’?)

    With good Christmas wishes,

    H.
