This graffiti appeared overnight. The tag “Koze” originated more than ten years ago in Denver but is also used by a London graffiti artist.
Meanwhile at home I was not pleased to hear that Bertie had got at my Worcester Sauce and the sitting room was in a mess. How he’d opened the bottle I couldn’t imagine but I wasn’t looking forward to dealing with it. It was a relief to find shredded paper everywhere. He had eaten a good many back numbers of Wooster Sauce, the journal of the PG Wodehouse Society. Fortunately he cannot reach my Wodehouse books. He ate the Life and Arts section of the FTWeekend on Saturday morning. This invariably happens when he feels, wrongly, he is being neglected; he is a very determined and assertive beagle.
Speaking of Plum, American auction house, Freeman’s, are offering an important collection of PG Wodehouse books and collectables on Thursday. The sale comprises 191 Lots and can be viewed here. It seems possible that a signed first edition will set a record. More practically, there are adaptations of Uncle Fred in the Springtime and Leave it to Psmith on BBC Radio 4 on Sunday afternoons this month. Richard Burnip’s Wodehouse walks around Mayfair have been cancelled but shut your eyes and imagine you are with him by listening to his podcast (here).
A friend sent me this. Unfortunately not a Wodehouse among them but they are all real books, I think.
The curious thing with those cleverly arranged books is that “On the Beach” author was Shute, not Schute and as another friend remarked, why is Blackpool tower on the spine? The other titles do seem genuine. A publisher’s misprint??
