A Matter of Interest

There will be plenty of time to applaud the custodians of my savings who have successfully adopted defensive strategies. I love the insouciance of Barclays; “you don’t need to do anything – the changes will happen automatically … “ A Business Premium Account seems singularly inappropriately named.
I once applied to be a Ken Fisher broker. It became apparent that my business model was incompatible with his. I wanted to be an investment guru – the Buffett of Barons Court  – with a low-cost platform for my clients. Fisher wanted a salesman to tout his funds. He, see posts passim, unrelentingly trumpeted a bull market in equities through his columns in the FT and his letters to clients. Now what? I can only think of a tent maker in Tarsus who changed sides so fast.

Small things can be cheering. The wisteria has managed to produce a few racemes, so late that they are obscured with foliage but its a start.
