The parents of a god daughter came round for a drink a few evenings ago bearing gifts and with three dogs; Bertie was thrilled.
They (not the dogs) like the sort of books, films, plays and TV programmes that appeal to R and me. The last film I saw with father of god daughter was First Cow in which Toby Jones was excellent. More recently I have been discovering how decadent Titled Folk were/are in A Very British Scandal. Clare Foy plays the Marg of Arg dramatically and somewhat enigmatically. Digression; Hugh Laurie has been cast as the Duke of York in the upcoming Netflix series: “Maxwell House, Royal Roast”.
Have you heard of Louis Wain? I hadn’t but there is a film about him, The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, with Benedict Cumberbatch (natch), Clare Foy and Toby Jones inter alia.

His claim to fame is painting cats but, above, he made an exception. This is more typical.

I wonder about the film but I need only speculate until tomorrow when I will see it at Riverside Studios. Why a film about a man who drew kitsch pictures of cats and died in 1939?
One of the gifts we received was from my god daughter and will almost certainly appear in a future post. The other is a slim, anthropomorphic book that I much look forward to reading. As it’s short I can read it as respite from Chips at war.
Sweet! After that trailer, I feel as though I’ve seen the whole film. But I do intend to watch the whole thing, soon!
Well trailers are often better than the film or filum as we say in Ireland.
