Groundhog Day

After such a lovely French sojourn it was brutal catching the 05.28 Piccadilly Line train from Hammersmith to LHR T5 yesterday morning.

It was a smooth journey back to Kiev, made easier knowing ways to avoid queues, learnt from last time. I’m back in the same place, Ibis Railway Hotel, with some of the same observers. The only difference is that the snow on the triangle of grass beneath my window has melted.

A dollop of Trollope and then supper in a cheap and cheerful Georgian joint whiled away the evening agreeably.

Tomorrow it’s the 8.45 bus to the conference centre where I hope to meet my German partner and be reminded of the rules and regs of being an observer in Ukraine – in case I have forgotten anything which is most likely.
