Rosemary thoughtfully asked after Bertie; an Irish expression?
He went back to The Ralph at Marlow on Monday for an update. His specialist was astonished he hadn’t put on weight as steroids are fattening but she reckoned without Robert’s strict regime. He’s doing well and had a blood test without a sedative. He came home with a red bandage around a front paw wagging his tail, looking like he’d won a prize at a gymkhana. However, he will be on steroids until mid-Oct although he looks very well. Steroids make him hungry and thirsty so he has to get up in the night for a pee, like me.
So glad to hear Bertie is doing well. I was only thinking about him yesterday and up popped your email.
I have just had two weeks in hospital. Unlike Bertie no daily reports were requested by my legions on fans. Ah well, in another life that of a dog might be preferable.
