Let Us Remember

Holocaust Memorial Garden, Hyde Park, November 2024.

For these I weep

Streams of tears flow from my eyes

Because of the destruction of my people

These lines are from Lamentations in the Hebrew Bible. They are engraved on the block of granite at the centre of a small grove of silver birches near the Serpentine in Hyde Park: the Holocaust Memorial Garden.

Something to ponder on today as I observe Remembrance Sunday at the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

  1. These days Schindler would be vilified as a people trafficker. We have lost our compassion for vulnerable people.
