Grave Matters

It took a third visit to find this rather prominent grave at St Nicholas’s Chiswick. It is in a part of the graveyard that I thought only had modern headstones.

Blue Sky Drinking

I find a Bloody Mary a great mental stimulant. Top Tip is to start with the small bits: lemon juice, Tabasco, Lea & Perrins, pepper, best not to add celery salt as the tomato juice has plenty of that. Then chuck in the ice, vodka and tomato juice – eureka!

Walking around London you see things that you’d miss on a bus or in a taxi. The Eisenhower Centre is an example.

Amlodipine

I have been feeling off-colour all summer. There is a constant metallic taste in my mouth, loss of appetite and general lassitude. I feel tired after quite short walks. I feel twenty years older than I am.

The stock market has been more resilient than I expected. As a result my somewhat defensive stance is underperforming but I intend to stick to my guns, or rather remain in my bunker. I haven’t traded since July.

Mahler’s Sixth

Friday morning: persistent rain, ditto hangover and the hinges on the freezer door have broken. Consolation: good for garden, hangover acquired most pleasurably, no food in freezer.
