Fur & Feather

Fur & Feather is “Britain’s best loved Rabbit magazine” but if you are a cuniculturist you have come to the wrong place because today two guest bloggers have updates on a beagle and a falcon.

“Morning, Bertie has been comfortable, settled and bright overnight. He is eating really well and is comfortable when moving around. Our clinician will be in touch later today with a clinical update. Kind regards  … (Medicine nurse)” (The Ralph)

“Day 40 – What a day… It was meant to be a day to ease into FledgeWatch, I wasn’t really expecting much to happen. It started well. At 10:40 Indy lost her footing and dropped off the ledge. She recovered and started flying, though struggling a bit. Then Tom arrived and started dive bombing her. She tried to land on the building and managed to cling to the outside mesh. She climbed her way to a window. But the ledge was very narrow and after a while she fell down. Unfortunately we couldn’t see where she’d fallen and I made the wrong assumption. Thankfully James Roney found her in the car park and stayed with her until I arrived, and helped me as she didn’t want to be picked. Very feisty! Once she was in my pet carrier and calmed down a little we went to the roof and released her somewhere the parents would find her easily. I hoped that from there she’d go back to the ledge but she went the other direction. She is roosting on one of the mobile aerials.
Thank you so much to everyone who helped today! Very much appreciated. Let’s hope her proper fledge is smoother…” (Nathalie Mahieu)

Tomorrow it will be me rabbiting on as usual. Meanwhile Nathalie – Handle With Care.

  1. Intriguing that Fur and Feather is our “best loved rabbit magazine”. Made me wonder how big the field is. Also made me wonder how the feather comes in given that it is a mag exclusively for rabbit fanciers.
Good news on Bert but worried that the Ralph will cause a liquidation of your portfolio at an inopportune moment in the market cycle.
