Traffic

Sorry, today’s post is both boring and nerdy – but I am often asked how many readers come here.

I don’t like traffic on St D and Margers but here I love it. If you squint at the table above you will see there were more than two million “hits” in a twelve month period last year. As this website has been going for more than eight years that means a lot of hits – whatever they are. We like Sixties hits, don’t we? I have noticed other bloggers have a counter on their Home pages with “Number of Visitors”. It usually is, like mine, in low millions. I think they are clocking up hits. These authors, if they can be so called, are fooling themselves and their readers.

I can show you how many readers actually turn up every day here. Abracadabra!

So well done USA, I thought Ireland would beat you, and well done Australia.

  1. Time to monetise your leading position as an influencer. I have certainly bought numerous books on your recommendation. I can see a very particular group of advertisers; Eland Books, Royal Colleges of Arms and of Music, the butcher in Barons Court, Ognisko, PGW Soc and so on.

    1. Please leave out monetizing and influencing! This letter is such a welcome relief from all of that hype.
